The Golf GPS application provides essential distance measurement features, displaying distances to bunkers, water hazards, and the flag. Unlike many similar apps that require a subscription or pre-built maps, this tool offers a straightforward solution without additional costs, relying instead on real-time data. During a round of golf, I noted the conventional color coding—red, white, and blue for 100, 150, and 200 yards respectively—and conceived an innovative approach: reversing this visual scheme on the iPhone screen.

The app constructs a dynamic map centered on your current position, represented by a blue pin. Concentric circles of red, white, and blue radiate outward, corresponding to standard yardages. Additionally, I integrated configurable circles at 50, 250, and 300 yards for comprehensive coverage. An option for metric measurements is available for users familiar with meters.

These circles generally suffice for most players' needs, but the app also allows users to manually drop markers at arbitrary points. By dragging these markers to specific locations, the app precisely calculates the distance from your current position to that point. All custom markers are saved internally and persist until deleted.

Note that an active internet connection is required to utilize this application effectively.
